Peppol ID Checker & Participant Lookup

Enter an enterprise number, VAT number or Peppol ID. Since 2026 Belgian businesses must be able to receive e-invoices over Peppol.

🌐 External lookup: the registration check sends the Peppol ID to our server, which queries the Peppol SML (DNS), the SMP of the access point and the Peppol Directory.

Peppol IDs for Belgian companies

A Peppol participant is identified by a scheme and a value. Belgian companies normally use scheme 0208 with the 10-digit enterprise number: 0208:0417497106 (full form iso6523-actorid-upis::0208:0417497106). Some are also registered under 9925 with their VAT number (9925:BE0417497106). The UBL invoice uses the same pair in cbc:EndpointID schemeID="0208".

How the lookup works

  1. SML: a DNS lookup of base32(SHA-256(id)) under edelivery.tech.ec.europa.eu (NAPTR record) tells whether the ID is registered and at which SMP.
  2. SMP: the access point's metadata server lists the document types the participant can receive (invoice, credit note, order…).
  3. Peppol Directory: the optional business card with the registered name and country.

Not registered? The company can't receive Peppol invoices yet — or is registered under the other scheme; check both IDs.
